Love this machine. As a chemistry lecturer, i wanted a laptop for backup in case something happened to my desktop. My university is still work from home so being able to stay online is very important.
My final choice was between the M1 macbook pro and this but decided to go with the xps 13 because certain software I use doesn’t work on mac.
The laptop is everything i wanted and then some. It’s extremely quick, and adjusting windows 11 has been easy. The build is premium and the keyboard is superior. It wasn’t too bogged down by bloatware (mainly antivirus which i quickly uninstalled).
The battery life is average thus far and the quality from the webcam is below average.
Overall I’m very happy with my purchase and hope it continues!

Was trying to purchase this laptop but multiple listings appeared. FYI, the other listings are from third-party sellers or distributors. Nothing wrong with third-party sellers and if you want to purchase from a third-party seller that is up to you. If you try to go to other listings and go under the “Buy Now” buttons, third-party sellers will have a section that says “ships from/sold by”. This listing does not, so it is sold by the actual Dell store. Also, if you can, buy this laptop when it has a discount. I bought it at an unfortunate time and the price dropped $200 after it shipped. I was able to return it and repurchase with the discount.

This is a small light laptop, I needed a new one after my clunky Toshiba was running slow, and getting outdated. I wanted a light, fast and small laptop, which this is, but the battery life stinks, face recognition stinks, does not always detect and the touch screen often freezes the whole laptop.

This is a high functioning little laptop. However, in researching this model it stated this was a great model for photo editing. That is not true at all!!!! I am extremely disappointed in this computer. I shot photos in RAW and you can’t even get the entire Photoshop display in the window. Nor can you easily move it back and forth. I thought I was having issues with Photoshop because I couldn’t get all of the functions to show up. Today (after 4 months of playing with it) I discovered that it wasn’t Photoshop but my computer that didn’t show all the panels of photoshop. There aren’t enough ports on the computer for downloading photos are working with the photos. I called Dell and asked which monitor and docking station was recommended for this computer. You can’t use the monitor without the docking station. The docking station they recommended only makes the computer jam. So basically the only reason for my purchase is a complete bust. I have a $1700 dust collector. I thought Dell was the best, this frustrating experience has proven otherwise.

I paid up for this laptop to replace an HP Spectre that had worked well for several years but was struggling to handle the increased bandwidth needed to support multi-tasking. While certain features work well on this Dell (bluetooth connectivity, local speed), network functions and camera quality are very poor for a “high end” laptop. I use this machine for work (microsoft suite, chrome-based software system, and zoom) and have a dual display monitor port connected. The machine has serious lag time, poor wireless network connections, and a grainy camera for zoom/teams meetings. Also, it has lost wifi connectivity multiple times requiring the network connection to be reset weekly. My HP was nearly half the cost and had half the specs (8gb ram, i5 processor, etc), but performed as good or better in nearly all facets. Seriously disappointed in this model and won’t be returning to Dell after this experience.

As a former XPS 9570 owner, this laptop is basically a smaller, lighter, power conscious version of it focusing more on productivity and less on gaming. There is no discrete graphics, only Intel’s Xe graphics for light gaming at low resolutions. This laptop is perfect for mobile users that want a fast processor with plenty of RAM and good battery life without the need for power hungry discrete graphics.

CPU: Intel Core i7-1195G7 2.9GHz/ 5.0GHz boost 4 Core/8 Thread Processor
This is the latest 11th gen, 10nm chip for non-gaming portables. You get the increased power savings from shifting to 10nm process node. This is not an ‘H’ chip usually on gaming laptops but the G series for better heat and battery management.

RAM: 16GB DDR4 4267MHz Dual Channel
Plenty of RAM, even for Chrome, the faster clocked RAM is a nice plus.

NMVe: Micron 2300 NVMe 512GB M.2
The only replaceable part in this system. The rated R/W speeds are 3300/2700MBps. Uses Micron 96 Layer TLC NAND.

LCD: 13.4in 1920×1200 panel, 500 nits brightness
Dell has the brightest screens of any laptop brand. The FHD+ screen is much better for battery life than the 4K OLED screen. Text can be a bit small when viewed at 100% setting, you might need to bump to 125% or 150%. The touch screen was responsive and the sensitivity was good. 100% sRGB coverage but only 90% DCI P3.

VIDEO CARD: Intel Xe
Don’t expect to play any recent AAA titles on anything higher than 720P. This is just barely faster than basic Intel UHD graphics. If you really want to game, this laptop is not meant for you.

WIFI: Killer 1650s WIFI 6
This is a rebadged Intel AX200, which in my opinion is a good thing. Killer makes placebo cards at best and even worse software. Do yourself a favor and uninstall all Killer software and watch your network issues disappear. Install the Intel AX200 drivers and you will be all set.
