Electricbrands has presented the first Xbus prototype. The electric motorhome is just 395 cm long and therefore shorter than conventional motorhomes. Electricbrands relies on a pull-out rear extension module to accommodate the fold-out double bed. There is also a manual pop-up roof and offers more headroom over the kitchen area so that food can be prepared and prepared while standing. The cooktop kitchen has a single burner gas stove hidden under the pull out worktop.

According to the manufacturer, a sink and refrigerator are also possible, but there is nothing to be seen of them in the prototype.

The camper stands on a chassis offered by Electricbrands for off-road use with increased ground clearance compared to the normal chassis. There are also off-road tires and wider fenders. The microbus is also available with all-wheel drive.

The Xbus camper is available with different batteries. The smallest has just 10 kilowatt hours (kWh), which should be good for a range of just 140 km. The largest battery pack with 30 kilowatt hours (kWh) should offer a range of up to 420 km.

Solar cells on the roof should ensure that the battery can be recharged when the weather conditions are right.

What is interesting about the Xbus is its modular approach with interchangeable structures. The vehicle can also be equipped with a box body and a platform. It is not yet clear how complex this exchange is.

The electric motor has an output of 15 kW, so that the vehicle can reach a maximum speed of 90 km/h.

  • The entire Xbus platform is still in the prototype stage, so all the specifications mentioned are subject to change before production. For the camper, the Xbus configurator specifies a base price of 30,170 euros for the normal chassis model and 32,370 euros for the off-road model.
