Apple’s Maps application has received numerous improvements over the past few years. Apple last announced major innovations for the Maps app in April . When Apple launched Maps, many spoke of it as a failure, over the years Apple has put a lot of energy into the app and it shows. The new functions for the German market also include the “Look Around” function.

Apple Maps features Look Around, interactive street-level imagery with high-resolution 3D photography. If you spot binoculars in the map view, you can click on them to look around, either in full screen format or in a window within Apple Maps. You started with Munich, among other things, then Frankfurt and Stuttgart came along.

In mid-June they followed up and put parts of Dortmund, Cologne, Düsseldorf, Neuss, Leverkusen, Solingen, Essen, Langenfeld and Ratingen on the Umschau map. From now on, users can also look around in the cities of Hamburg, Leipzig and Berlin , although not all of the cities are included, but there are numerous nice points with up-to-date map material.

You can always see where Apple is on the road on this page . Feel free to take a look – and if your city catches your eye as new, feel free to comment.

The Apple Karten team says it has worked very closely with the Bavarian Data Protection Authority to ensure all regional privacy policies and protocols are followed. This includes redacting all personally identifiable information. Individuals with questions or concerns should visit this page for more information .
