The US manufacturer Corsair is best known for RAM, but has also had monitors and complete desktop PC systems in its product range for some time. The company is now bringing its first notebook onto the market and is also targeting creative people with its high performance.
The Corsair Voyager a1600 bears AMD’s “Advantage” seal of approval and should therefore offer special quality in cooperation with the AMD components. Logically, Corsair only uses AMD hardware for the main processor and graphics unit in the Voyager a1600. Depending on the selected configuration, there is an AMD Ryzen 7 6800HS or a Ryzen 9 6900HS , each with eight cores and 16 threads. There is also a Radeon RX 6800M with 12 gigabytes of GDDR6 video memory as a dedicated graphics unit. You can choose between 32 or 64 gigabytes of DDR5 RAM for the RAM equipment, each in the form of two inserted SO-DIMM bars. The mass storage is an SSD with 1 terabyte capacity for the variant with the AMD Ryzen 7. The version with the AMD Ryzen 9 6900HS comes with a 2 terabyte PCIe 40. M.2 NVMe SSD as standard .

In both configurations, the display delivers native 2560 x 1600 pixels in 16:10 format and a maximum refresh rate of 240 Hertz . Incidentally, Corsair does not provide any information on the brightness here, but since the notebook bears the AMD Advantage seal, at least 300 nits are required. 100 percent coverage of the sRGB color space is also mandatory here. An integrated and illuminated short-cut bar at the back end of the notebook is interesting . This offers various quick access keys, which then also work when the display is closed and are particularly interesting for operating live streams. The rest of the keyboard is also illuminated and comes from the specialists at Cherryand relies on particularly flat keys.
The Voyager A1600 has connections for two USB 4.0 with Thunderbolt 3 functionality , one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type C and one USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type A. There is also a 3.5 millimeter audio combo jack and an SDXC 7.0 card reader. The wireless communication works for Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2. The battery has a capacity of 6410 mAh – Windows 11 Home is preinstalled.
The Corsair Voyager a1600 weighs 2.4 kilograms and measures 35.6 x 28.6 x 1.99 centimeters . The variant with the AMD Ryzen 7 6800HS, 32 gigabytes of RAM and 1 terabyte SSD starts at 2700 US dollars . The version with an AMD Ryzen 9 6900HS, 64 gigabytes of RAM and a 2 terabyte SSD will cost around 3000 US dollars . Corsair has not yet announced when the notebook will be released.
